Do's & Don'ts at Mata Shakambhari Devi Shaktipeeth

Do's

Please follow these practices

  • Take a bath early in the morning and visit the temple with a pure heart and mind.
  • Always have darshan of Bhura Dev (Bhairavnath) temple first before entering the main Shakambhari Devi temple.
  • Fold your hands, bow your head, and meditate on Mata while having darshan.
  • Offer fruits, flowers, sweets, red chunari, sindoor, rice, and other traditional items to Mata.
  • Participate in the aarti and chant "Jai Mata Ki" with devotion.
  • Accept prasad gratefully and distribute it to others.
  • Keep the temple premises clean – use dustbins and maintain sanctity.
  • Maintain silence, peace, and respectful behaviour inside the temple complex.

Don'ts

Please avoid these actions

  • Do not enter the temple wearing shoes, slippers, or socks. It is also strictly prohibited to bring any weapons, cameras, or leather belts inside the temple premises.
  • Do not bring or consume non-vegetarian food, alcohol, tobacco, or intoxicants in the premises.
  • Photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside the temple complex.
  • Women should not enter the temple during menstruation (as per traditional practice).
  • Do not have darshan without taking bath or in an impure state.
  • Avoid loud talking, laughing, joking, or any disrespectful behaviour.
  • Do not harm trees, plants, or throw litter anywhere in the premises.
  • Do not push, break queues, or create chaos during peak hours.
